Gypsy MC
Brief
History of Gypsy International
In 1932, Lee Simmerly got with some of his friends to
do some serious riding along the mountains of Maryville, Tennessee. Many of
the locals did not understand the lifestyle of these daring young men, and
dubbed them the "Sour Pickles of Society," which is where we got our Pickle
logo. Many changes have occurred along the way, but there are some things
that just don't change, like our club motto: "Mileage is knowledge; the more
you ride, the more your learn about road riding, your bike, and the
lifestyle you have chosen." Today, Hap Simmerly is our International
President. We are a family-oriented motorcycle club which strives to
promote a positive image of bikers through practicing safe riding
guidelines, allowing female and junior members, and accepting any make of
bike over 250 CC. We are also members of
TMRA. If you would like to

About the Paris Chapter...
In August, 2006, our chapter became official with a patch-in party at the
Eagles Lodge (see photo gallery), starting out with 6 patch-holding members
(Jumpy, Survivor, Feathers, Chief, Chug, and Big Jerry). While Chief and
Chug are no longer with us, and Big Jerry has gone to the Sulphur Springs
chapter, we are still a tight-knit bunch that enjoys riding every chance we
get. We currently have 9 members, 4 prospects, and 1 junior member. We volunteer a lot with the local Wish-For-A-Child
efforts.
